The wait is over, and the most important boxing event of the year, the annual Convention of the World Boxing Council in its 61st edition, will take place from November 12 to 17, in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Our host city Tashkent is the economic and cultural hub of Uzbekistan and one of the richest cities in all of Central Asia. It combines history and tradition, perfectly displaying modern elegance and at the same time offering spectacular views of an oriental city. Wide avenues, modern restaurants and beautiful buildings, which this year will be adorned in green and gold.
Tashkent, which means “City of Stone”, is a city located in the eastern part of the country, very close to the borders with Kazakhstan, Kirghizistan and Tajikistan, making it one of the main gateways to the region.
The World Boxing Council and Tashkent are preparing a fabulous because our hosts intend to make a first-class boxing event where all the convention attendees are captivated by its magic, traditions, and gastronomy.
A celebratory Convention, but also a lot of work because, as usual, we will have presentations, a medical seminar, approval of the world rankings, mandatory fight sessions, seminars for ring officials, judges, and referees, the visit of WBC Cares and workshops, with the firm purpose of enriching and updating boxing, always prioritizing the safety and health of the boxer.
