
For the first time in Ukrainian history, two Ukrainian women, Anastasiia Petrenko (5-0, 3KOs) and Oksana Bondarenko (7-2, 1KOs), competed for the WBC titles. This is a very important step for the official representation of the WBC in Ukraine. This has never happened before and boxing fan's interest in women professional boxing was at the low level.
The bout was the main-event of the boxing night iт Lviv city on February 8th and lasted all 10 rounds. Oksana Bondarenko held the descent opposition throughout the bout and even took several winning rounds away of Anastasiia Petrenko. However, by unanimous decision of the judges Anastasiia Petrenko was the determined winner and the new champion: 99:91; 100:90; 99:93.
