As a result of the explosion by the occupiers of the Kakhovskaya HPP, numerous cities and villages were flooded. Due to the large scale and speed of the flooding, people with little children waited for help on the roofs of their houses, which were filled with water in a matter of hours. Elderly people who could not evacuate on their own survived thanks to the help of local residents, volunteers and rescue services. Thousands of people hastily left their homes.
It is known about the lost lives of the townspeople, and it is still impossible to establish the number of missing persons. The world will see the real picture of the destruction and the dead only after the water recedes.
Many domestic and wild animals had no chance to escape from this terrible disaster. Someone was saved from death, but many lives were doomed.
This tragedy has dire humanitarian and environmental consequences. There are not enough words to describe all the pain we are all going through right now.
We pray for every crippled soul.
