August 2025: Ukrainian Boxers in the WBC World Rankings

The August update of the World Boxing Council (WBC) world rankings confirmed that Ukrainian boxers maintain stable positions and continue to influence the situation across multiple weight divisions. The summer events — including Oleksandr Usyk’s triumphant rematch, the activity of WBC Francophone and Youth champions, as well as performances in the prestigious WBC Grand Prix — have shaped a new picture for our country on the international stage.

Heavyweight

  • Oleksandr Usyk — the undisputed world champion holding the WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF belts, after a convincing victory in his rematch over Daniel Dubois. His status is a historic achievement for Ukrainian boxing and a clear confirmation of his dominance in the heavyweight division.
  • Andrii Novytskyi dropped to 24th place. Despite missing a fight due to injury, he remains among the contenders and has a chance to return to the top 20 with a successful next bout.
  • Tsotne Rogava holds the 33rd spot and is preparing for a key fight in the third stage of the WBC Grand Prix, which will take place on August 13. His opponent will be undefeated Bosnian Ahmed Krnjić (5–0, 4 KOs). The event will be broadcast live on DAZN.
  • Bohdan Myronets — ranked 40th in the world. The current WBC Francophone Heavyweight champion retains his position even without recent fights, which highlights his significance on the international stage.

  • Oleksandr Hrytsiv, the WBC Francophone champion, consistently holds 10th place, remaining one of the key contenders for high-level fights in the division.
  • Serhii Radchenko — 18th in the world. His experience and past fights against strong opponents allow him to stay in the top 20 despite the lack of recent activity.
  • Vitalii Stalchenko is ranked 25th after his appearance in the WBC Grand Prix. His presence in the world rankings underlines the level he demonstrated in the international tournament. His last fight was on July 25 against an opponent from Azerbaijan.

Light Heavyweight

  • Oleksandr Gvozdyk remains 4th and continues to be one of the main contenders for a title shot in the light heavyweight division.

Super Welterweight

  • Serhii Bohachuk — the Ukrainian Super Welterweight fighter, dropped from 1st to 2nd place in the WBC world rankings. Nevertheless, he remains one of the top title contenders, and his May victory over Michael Fox, along with consistent performances, keeps him in strong contention for a championship bout soon.

On August 13, he will enter the ring in the third stage of the WBC Grand Prix, aiming to improve his position and secure his status as one of Ukraine’s most promising fighters in the division.
