Taras Bondarchuk — New WBC Ukraine Lightweight Champion

On April 4, as part of the boxing event “Everyone Has Their Own Dream 2” in Brovary, the highly anticipated rematch took place between Dmytro Tsiupka (10-5-1, 5 KOs) and Taras Bondarchuk (5-1, 1 KO) in the Lightweight division (up to 61.2 kg).

The bout lived up to its status as a heated rivalry and unfolded in a tense, competitive manner. For Taras Bondarchuk, it was a chance to avenge his defeat in the first fight — and he made the most of it.

After all rounds were completed, Taras Bondarchuk secured the victory by unanimous decision. The judges’ scorecards read as follows: Vadym Lavrenets — 98-92, Illia Zavialov — 98-92, Ihor Kabanov — 99-91, all in favor of Bondarchuk.

With this win, Bondarchuk not only avenged his previous loss but also captured the WBC Ukraine and Ukrainian national Lightweight titles, confidently establishing himself as one of the promising contenders in the division.

It is also worth noting that on April 18 in Lviv, bouts featuring Hrytsiv, Mykhalushko, and Molodan are scheduled to take place, with each fighter set to defend their respective titles against their opponents.
