Memorandum Signed to Support the Development of Adaptive Boxing in Ukraine
On June 23, 2026, a Memorandum of Cooperation aimed at advancing adaptive boxing in Ukraine was officially signed.
The document represents a logical continuation of the work initiated in April during the visit of WBC Adaptive Boxing representatives Scott Welch and Matthew Etherington to Ukraine. During that visit, the first-ever WBC Adaptive Boxing masterclass in Ukraine was held at SpartaBox Boxing Club, marking an important step toward the implementation of the international adaptive boxing program for veterans.
Following the masterclass, working meetings were held with Minister of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine Nataliia Kalmykova and Deputy Minister Ruslan Prykhodko. During these meetings, the parties discussed the future development of adaptive boxing, the creation of sustainable support programs for veterans, and the implementation of international experience and best practices in Ukraine.
The Memorandum was signed by the Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine, WBC Adaptive Boxing, WBC Cares Ukraine, the Ukrainian Veterans Boxing League, and the National Professional Boxing League of Ukraine.

The signed Memorandum establishes a foundation for future cooperation in the development of adaptive boxing, the promotion of sports among veterans, the creation of new opportunities for physical rehabilitation and social reintegration of servicemen and servicewomen, as well as the implementation of international standards and best practices in this field.
The participants of the initiative believe that adaptive boxing can become an effective tool for both physical and psychological recovery of veterans, while also serving as an important element of their integration into active community life.
Although much work still lies ahead, the signing of the Memorandum marks an important milestone in establishing a systematic approach to the development of adaptive boxing in Ukraine and demonstrates the commitment of government institutions, sports organizations, and international partners to working together in support of Ukrainian veterans.
