HOW THE POSITIONS OF UKRAINIAN BOXERS CHANGED IN THE WBC RANKINGS IN MARCH 2026

The March update of the WBC world rankings reflects the current situation of Ukrainian boxers in professional boxing. The positions of Ukrainian fighters are determined based on their performances in recent bouts, the level of opposition, and their activity within their respective weight divisions. In the latest version of the rankings, some Ukrainian fighters managed to improve their positions, others maintained their previous places, while several boxers moved down or dropped out of the lists.

HEAVYWEIGHT (over 101.6 kg)

  • Oleksandr Usyk — Champion

Oleksandr Usyk continues to hold the WBC heavyweight championship title and remains at the top of the division. The Ukrainian boxer remains one of the key figures in modern professional boxing, and his fights against the strongest opponents continue to shape the balance of power in the heavyweight division.

Usyk’s next fight is scheduled for May 23, 2026. The bout is expected to take place near the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, making it one of the most spectacular events in modern boxing. The Ukrainian champion will face legendary Dutch kickboxing star Rico Verhoeven, a long-reigning GLORY heavyweight champion. The fight has been sanctioned by the WBC as a voluntary title defense.

Compared to the previous rankings update, Novytskyi dropped four positions — from 22nd to 26th place. Despite the drop, the Ukrainian boxer remains within the top 30 of the division. His presence in the rankings is supported by the WBC International title and his previous results.
