Yaroslav Mykhalushko and Maksym Molodan Claim WBC Titles in Belgium
Ukrainian professional boxing once again demonstrated its strength on the international stage. On October 25 in Herstal, Belgium, the Knockout Boxing Night event featured two impressive title victories for Ukraine — as Yaroslav Mykhalushko and Maksym Molodan captured their respective WBC belts.
Yaroslav Mykhalushko — WBC Francophone and WBC International Champion
In the main event, Yaroslav Mykhalushko (12–0, 9 KOs) earned a dominant unanimous decision over Mexico’s Alexis Ríos Munguía (12–4–2, 6 KOs).
The bout went the full ten rounds and became a real test of endurance for both fighters. Munguía was knocked down twice but showed great heart, managing to finish the fight on his feet.
Both boxers worked effectively behind the jab, landing clean shots to the body and head, though Mykhalushko was sharper and more accurate throughout. The Ukrainian controlled the distance, combined attacks efficiently, and avoided unnecessary clinches, securing a convincing win on the scorecards:
Zvonko Rukavina — 100–88, Francesco Ramacciotti — 97–91, Jesús González — 98–90.
With this victory, Mykhalushko successfully defended his WBC Francophone title and captured the vacant WBC International belt in the Welterweight division (66.7 kg / 147 lbs).
Maksym Molodan — First WBC Francophone Title of His Career
Another highlight of the night came from Maksym Molodan (11–1, 6 KOs), who defeated Belgian fighter Anthony Loffet (14–5, 3 KOs) to claim the vacant WBC Francophone title in the Super Welterweight division (69.9 kg / 154 lbs).
From the opening rounds, Molodan set the pace and dictated the rhythm with clean, composed boxing. Loffet repeatedly resorted to clinches to break Molodan’s momentum, but the Ukrainian remained patient and in control, steadily building his advantage.
The judges scored the bout unanimously in favor of Molodan:
Francesco Ramacciotti — 99–91, Massimo Barrovecchio — 99–91, Jesús González — 100–90.
This victory marked the first professional title in Molodan’s career and a major milestone toward his rise in the WBC rankings.
Both title fights took place at Hall Omnisport La Préalle in Herstal, Belgium, as part of the Knockout Boxing Nightseries.
The Ukrainian athletes showcased skill, composure, and determination — reaffirming that Ukraine remains among the leading nations in the world of professional boxing.
