WBC October Rankings: Ukrainian Boxers Maintain Their Standing Among the World’s Elite

Ukrainian boxers once again proved their consistency and international class. The October update of the World Boxing Council (WBC) rankings confirmed that most Ukrainian fighters remain among the world’s elite, while several continue to move closer to title contention. Despite injuries, cancelled bouts and fierce competition, Ukraine’s representatives remain a notable force in nearly every division.

HEAVYWEIGHT

  • Oleksandr Usyk — current WBC World Champion. Maintains his title and continues to be a symbol of Ukrainian boxing on the global stage.
  • Andrii Novytskyi — ranked 23rd. Despite missing his July bout due to injury, Novytskyi remains high in the rankings as the reigning WBC International Champion.
  • Tsotne Rogava — ranked 37th. Continues to compete actively and hold a solid position among the world’s top heavyweights.
  • Bohdan Myronets — ranked 40th. Although inactive recently, Myronets retains his spot thanks to his WBC Francophone Heavyweight title and prior achievements.

BRIDGERWEIGHT

  • Oleksandr Hrytsiv — ranked 10th. Despite scoring a knockout victory in September, he dropped one spot, likely due to increased activity in the division. Hrytsiv remains one of the division’s most dangerous contenders.
  • Serhii Radchenko — ranked 19th. The experienced fighter maintains his position in the top 20 and is expected to return soon following a short break.
  • Vitalii Stalchenko — ranked 26th. A rising Ukrainian prospect who continues to progress steadily within the WBC rankings.
  • Liubomyr Pinchuk — ranked 29th. Regular appearances in international events keep him among the division’s consistent contenders.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT

  • Oleksandr Gvozdyk — ranked 3rd. The former world champion remains among the leading title challengers and one of the division’s top performers.
  • Daniil Lapin — ranked 23rd. His scheduled November 1 fight was cancelled due to a hand injury. Lapin is focusing on recovery and is expected to return to the ring in early 2026.

SUPERMIDDLEWEIGHT

  • Sergii Derevianchenko — ranked 24th. Dropped slightly after a break in competition but remains a respected and experienced contender.

MIDDLEWEIGHT

  • Fedor Cherskashin — ranked 9th. Maintains his top-10 position and continues to be among the leading title prospects in the division.

SUPER WELTERWEIGHT

  • Serhii Bohachuk — ranked 7th. Despite his summer loss to Brandon Adams, Bohachuk moved up one spot — likely due to reshuffles in the top-10. Still one of the most powerful punchers in the category.
  • Vasyl Chebotar — ranked 37th. The WBC Youth Champion continues to gain experience and strengthen his position on the international stage.

WELTERWEIGHT

  • Karen Chukhadzhian — ranked 12th. Climbed a few places after his October victory and remains one of the division’s most skilled and composed boxers.
  • Yaroslav Mykhalushko — ranked 38th. Preparing for a title fight on October 25 in Belgium, where he will defend his WBC Francophone belt and contest the vacant WBC International title.

SUPER LIGHTWEIGHT

  • Danylo Lozan — ranked 31st. Following his WBC Grand Prix semifinal loss, Lozan dropped two places but remains a promising contender in his division.

LIGHTWEIGHT

  • Denys Berinchyk — ranked 9th. Consistently among the WBC’s top-10 lightweights and still within reach of a world title shot.

BANTAMWEIGHT

  • Anastasiia Petrenko — ranked 20th. The reigning WBC Francophone and WBC Ukraine champion is currently on a competitive break but retains her place due to her titles and past performances.

October was a month of consistency for Ukrainian boxers. Despite injuries and postponed fights, most of them maintain solid rankings within the WBC system. Several are poised to improve further in the coming months as the year’s final title bouts approach.
